Talk 2 The Animals: Pet Grief & the Holidays

Few things in life are as difficult as saying that final good-bye to our animal pal, knowing we are left behind as they journey without us to their next stage of being. It is confounding to understand and accept this loss in the ‘best’ of times, and experiencing pet grief during the holiday season is far from the best of times. Pet grief, juxtaposed against the backdrop of the anticipation, excitement and celebration of the holiday season feels surreal. The mere thought, or prospect, of not having your beloved animal pal with you can lead to trepidation and anxiety in a season that is traditionally marked with good cheer and festivities. Yet it is necessary we reach out and find healing for ourselves and our family – both human and animal.

During the months of November and December I am presenting a program that’s covering this sensitive topic of grieving your pet over the holiday season.

This free program will show you:

  • What self care is and why it’s so essential at this time
  • How to handle holiday traditions so you feel replenished
  • Why creating a memorial for your beloved animal pal helps externalize your grief

This program, held both virtually and live in the Missoula, Montana area, is designed to help you cope with the stress of the holiday season without your pet. It doesn’t make a difference if the loss is recent, or happened years ago; it doesn’t make a difference if the loss is through death, disappearance or surrender through life changes. Loss is loss, grief is grief.

If that’s the case, Grieving Your Pet Over the Holidays eBook and MP3 Package was created to help those experiencing pet grief to know you are not alone.  Both the ebook and MP3 have suggestions and resources to help you cope with your pet grief this holiday season and will hopefully help ease the burden you carry. The eBook also contains reflection questions to help you realize where you are in your grief process.
